Alumni Weaving Week

Session fee: $50 per day (come for 10 hours, or just a few); pre-payment is required and non-refundable.
Materials fee: (we weigh the woven projects and charge by the ounce)
Room & board: lodging available $45/night; meals not provided

In the spirit of a Swedish Vävstuga, Vävstuga Basics alumni have the opportunity to weave in a social setting. Our Alumni Weeks will focus on sociability and affordability in a festive atmosphere. There will be no limit on quantity, so if you are a prolific weaver this is great opportunity for you to come and weave larger quantities than allowed during our Spring Vävstuga Days.
Participants will choose warps based on order of enrollment for each day. Register early and stay long to get first dibs on your favorite projects!
The per-day fee provides:
- Weaving on our looms
- Use of our extensive Vävstuga library
- Use of the cold mangle
- Use of our warping mills and yarns
- Socializing with friends in our beautiful facility
You will be on your own for meals, and you are welcome to use the kitchen upstairs. Our upstairs rooms are available for lodging on a first-come first-served basis, so we encourage you to sign up early.
Daily schedule
The studio will be open from 9 am – 7 pm, except on Saturday when the studio will close at 5 pm.

Studio opens for the day
A scheduling session will be held so weavers can plan their day.

Swedish style mid-morning coffee break on our beautiful dining porch.
2:00 – 2:30
Show and Tell
Bring a piece from home to share with your fellow Vävstuga weavers if you like. This could be something you have woven yourself,
a family piece, or something collected in your travels. Our half-hour time slot will allow for a short presentation around the table. We will
find a place to display the piece for the duration of the day or week, at the discretion of the contributor and as our space allows. It is always
an inspiration to see what you all have to share and we encourage your participation.
