Mini Immersion

Acquire a fountain of skills and knowledge in this 3-week intensive weaving course

Instructor: Becky Ashenden

Dates offered 2019:
This class will return to the regular schedule in 2020. In 2019 we are offering a 15-week Väv Immersion.

Learn 10 techniques from our most popular classes, while being immersed in the beautiful rural setting of our Barn Studio. If you have been a regular with us for a long time, there will be fresh ideas and new projects. For those of you who have never woven before, there will be a comfortable experience for you on each loom.

(This class will satisfy our Vävstuga Basics requirement for other classes.)

Practicing the skills of dressing a loom, along with a thorough understanding of each detailed project sheet, ensures that you will go home with a deeper understanding of multiple techniques, along with the skills to pursue your own path in weaving after completion of this course.

Fabric analysis sessions will strengthen and reinforce the theory behind the textile structures learned in drafting classes.

Our materials lecture includes making invaluable sample cards of cottons, wools, and linens, along with the knowledge of how these various yarns are used.

Inspirational classes in design will engage you in a multitude of techniques and tools for creating your individual masterpieces. You'll get several new project plans you can take home to your own loom.
