Julia - "the little gem"

We have been working with the designers and manufacturers over the last several years to fine-tune this loom for optimal comfort and function. Designed to start out as a 2 shaft loom for new weavers, it can easily be used with 4 and 6 shafts as well. You can add shafts and treadles later. The overall width of 27.5" accommodates a weaving width of 26". See also my demo mini-movie about Julia.

All Julia looms include: 500 heddles, Texsolv tie-up cords, 24 warp sticks, 2 lease sticks, tie bars, 2 shaft supports, 4 shaft safety pins, stick shuttle, reed hook, and instructional DVD. They are available in either red color or natural wood.

The Ideal - "a versatile space-saving loom"

The Ideal is a well proportioned small loom for the weaver who has a great interest in weaving, but who doesn't have enough room for a bigger loom. It can even be outfitted with various drawloom attachments. More photos and details are available at the GAV Glimåkra site.

The Standard - "top of the line"

The Standard is an extremely versatile loom. You can start with the basic model, 4 harnesses and 6 treadles. As your interest in weaving develops and your knowledge increases, you can add more harnesses and treadles to your Standard. It is designed so that you can equip it whenever you want, with accessories such as a fly shuttle beater or double warp beam. This will make your weaving even more fun and advanced. It can be outfitted with drawloom attachments as well: either a single unit draw system or shaft draw system of up to a hundred pattern shafts, or even a combination of the two.
