Swedish Classics now on Vimeo
Becky has recently added Swedish Classics to our Vävstuga Video Classes lineup on Vimeo. The Classics class offers an in-depth study of several classic weave structures commonly found in traditional Swedish handwoven textiles, from Monksbelt to Rosepath to multiple variations of twill. These detailed videos will guide you through the following five projects, with the help of numerous worksheets and multiple classroom exercises:

Newly republished book: Warp and Weft
We are happy to announce that Vävstuga Press has acquired the reproduction rights for Warp and Weft: Lessons in Drafting for Handweaving, by Mariana Eriksson, Gunnel Gustavsson, and Kerstin Lovallius. Warp and Weft inspires and instructs with lessons on pattern drafting. From the three most basic techniques of Swedish weaving — tabby, twill, and satin — to more advanced techniques, the book can benefit anyone who weaves. 2026 Väv Immersion
Now announcing next year’s dates for Väv Immersion, an 8-week weaving intensive co-sponsored by Fabric of Life and Vävstuga Weaving School. This comprehensive weaving course reinforces the historic lineage of Scandinavian hand weaving through challenging projects, extensive theory classes, and an immersive artisanal community. We welcome all individuals from 18 years old onward, and are committed to supporting diversity within our program. Regardless of where you are in your skills, who you are, or where you will be traveling from, we welcome you to apply to be considered for our 8th Väv Immersion cohort. Availability of on-site lodging is not guaranteed for applications received after the early application deadline. A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available.
