Vävstuga designed tools
Here at Vävstuga we design and create custom tools to enhance and improve the weaving experience for all skill levels. When we spot a niche where a new tool would offer our students a significantly more pleasant weaving experience, we become inspired to design the optimal tool for the task. We have forged relationships with a variety of skilled local craftsmen, who make these tools for us with meticulous attention to detail. From items to help with set up, to tools that can improve your weaving, these precisely crafted designs are crafted to simplify the weaving process for all.

A recent review from one of our satisfied customers:
I recently bought the size medium heddle with 13 pattern thread slots. I own lots of other heddles, but this is by far the nicest, and well worth the cost. Most heddles available in this style are plywood or 3D printed plastic. This is solid cherry wood, beautifully made and finished. A simple, quality tool that I already highly value. One of these (maybe along with one of Vävstuga’s equally well-crafted cherry wood bandlocks) would make a fabulous gift for any weaver. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Monthly Palmgren video: Daldräll tablecloth in linen
For May we have Palmgren Project #5: Daldräll tablecloth in linen. This beautiful linen tablecloth has a few unusual features, one of which is that there is no border, with the pattern simply an alternation of a large “table” of little squares and a beautiful blooming leaf motif. Another feature is that the warp is single-ply unbleached linen while the pattern is half bleached, which is a reversal from a traditional white warp and darker pattern weft. The bonus here is that if one is using fine single-ply linen warp for the first time, the unbleached is the most durable and easiest to work with, since it has been processed less than yarns put through any bleaching. This is a great project for anyone new to fine single-ply linen.
