Weaving classes

Teaching is our greatest passion at Vävstuga. Our classes focus on a wide range of skills, from mastering basic mechanics to complex weave structures. Learn to weave for the first time, or explore advanced techniques with a master teacher. If you are a curious weaver who wants to explore weave structures, counterbalance, countermarch, and to expand your weaving horizons, this is the place for you. If you have never woven before and would like to get the best possible start with dependable tools, sound techniques, and stellar instruction, this premier weaving school is for you.

Becky Ashenden, our instructor, has been teaching weaving since 1993 after 13 years as a production weaver. Each class is structured to maximize the benefits of both group and individual instruction. Becky emphasizes Swedish weaving techniques because of her extensive study in Sweden throughout the years. Sweden has a long and valued history of weaving; the streamlined approach to weaving and the flexibility of the looms and patterns are hard to match. Each student leaves Vävstuga with fresh inspiration and greater ability.

All 2013 class dates are available within the description of each class. If you would like to be notified when 2014 classes are announced, you may sign up for Vävstuga's monthly newsletters.

Enrollment for Vavstuga's 2013 classes begins at 9 am on Wednesday, September 19th.
