Instructors: Becky Ashenden & Eva Gaultney
Dates offered 2024: Jun 3–7
Gain experience working with this wide variety of materials that will broaden the scope of your future projects. If you are mystified by how colors blend together on the loom, and intrigued by unfamiliar yarns, our Gamp Camp class is just what you need. You will have the opportunity to weave with nine of our luxurious yarns, each in our own chosen arrangement of colors. The fabrics you take home with you will be informative references for many years to come. This is an exciting opportunity, as these would be expensive to replicate at home.

Wind warps for home:
Take advantage of our Yarn-in-a-Jars to aid designing your own gamp warps to take home. Picking your own color palette in a favorite yarn will make a resource you will use to plan your future projects.
When you make your warp here, no need to buy a full skein or tube of each color.
Mon – Looms will be set up and ready to go. A color theory session will present a vocabulary to discuss colors as they materialize at the looms. Weaving will begin after a short orientation at each loom.
Tue – We will continue to weave and rotate to new projects as needed. With 6 students and 9 looms, students will not feel rushed to move on. Some projects will take more time than others.
Mon–Thu – Classroom sessions will build on each other through the week. A thorough exposure to numerous samples in a variety of structures and materials will facilitate and inspire designing your own personalized color gamps.
Fri – Finishing, discussion, and comparisons of all the different materials and colors.
