Food

The Course Fee for our classes includes a wholesome lunch served buffet style in our well ventilated Farmhouse dining room. In the warm season, students have the option to take their plates outside, onto the screen porch, or settle in the spacious and well ventilated living room. During colder weather, we serve meals upstairs in the Barn in our spacious “Farmstead Café.”

Students who have not selected a Room and Board plan are welcome to join us for additional meals at our guest meal prices (see below). All students are welcome to invite a guest to meals for those same fees, as well. We would appreciate knowing about your guests for meals two weeks in advance of your class, if possible, to give our cook time to plan; otherwise, let us know as soon as you can.

Guest meal prices

Breakfast $12, lunch $15, dinner $18. (See above for when these apply.)

Meal times

Breakfast 8:00 am, lunch 12:30 pm (noon on Fridays), dinner 6:30 pm.

Special diets

We serve a healthy and delicious whole food diet. We are able to accommodate the following food preferences/allergies: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. If any of these apply to you, please let us know when you register.

Since we can’t accommodate other kinds of diets, please bring supplementary supplies to accommodate your own needs.

If you do wish to prepare your own meals here, there is a lovely health food store within a 7-mile drive. A small kitchen area with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee pot, hot water kettle, 4-burner stove, oven, cooking utensils, and dinnerware is available at the Farmhouse for your convenience. We cannot discount the room and board fee if you choose not to take all the meals.

Food allergy notice

Please be advised that menu items may contain or come into contact with wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, or milk. For more information, please speak with our staff.

Lodging

We offer a variety of lodging opportunities at our Farmhouse and Cabins for a limited number of students, as well as a Glamping Tent for seasonal use. The remaining students will require other arrangements; see the Off-site accommodations section below.

Room and board plans

Our array of room and board options offers something to suit everyone, depending on your choice of room type and the length of the session you’re attending. For all classes, we offer a room and board package starting the night before your class begins.

Some logistics:

  • Move-in time is between 5–7 pm, and a light supper is served on move-in night.
  • For our lodgers, breakfast is served every day during your class.
  • Lunch is also provided, as part of the course fee, to all students (lodgers and non-lodgers).
  • Dinner is served to on-site lodgers each night (except on your last class day).
  • There is a special Thursday night Swedish-style dinner for all class participants.
