July 2017

Beginning Tapestry

At the end of June we pushed the floor looms to the side to make room for a Beginning Tapestry class with Janet Austin! Her tapestries are exhibited nationally and internationally and her expertise was evident to all.

Fiber Frolic class

This class for ages 10-Adult is co-sponsored by Fabric of Life 501(c)3. A real immersion in fiber, from natural dyeing, spinning, weaving – including on a drawloom, sewing with hand wovens, wet felting and needle felting, and more, students had a busy and varied experience! The class culminated with a show & tell for the families and a big “Fika” celebration! We hope you will join in the fun next year!

July Treasures

In addition to the Fiber Frolic class, we enjoyed the presence of two weavers working on Treasures projects!

Eric wove a gorgeous Opphämta runner and Mo wove a fantastic Rep Rug on 8 Shafts!

This was an added benefit for the Fiber Frolic weavers who were able to see the amazing results!

Basket Weaving with Wendy Jensen

We were thrilled to welcome local weaver and award-winning basket maker, Wendy Jensen, to teach a Basket Weaving class at the Barn Studio. The participants were equally thrilled to go home with a beautiful Carry-All basket!
